Welcome to Horstine Farmery’s web site. Horstine Farmery is a world leader in the design and manufacture of highly accurate equipment for the application of granular pesticides, fertilizer and seeds. In the 60 years since the company was established in 1946 markets have been developed in every continent and it’s products have gained a well deserved reputation for high quality and durability.
The key to the success of the business has been the continued development of it’s unique positive displacement metering units. The system allows granules or seeds of different densities to be precisely applied over a wide range of application rates. A comprehensive range of applicator options are available which enable them to be fitted to virtually all types of agricultural equipment.
In 2002 Horstine Farmery was acquired by the Chafer Machinery Group.

New Horstine “Twin Air” Applicator
One Pass - Three Operations
One pass cultivation, rape seeding and slug pellet application is now achievable using the new Twin Air applicator from Horstine Farmery. Designed to fit most subsoilers or cultivators a 300 litre split stainless steel tank allows both seed and pellets to be applied simultaneously at different rates without the need for premixing.
Combining two operations in one pass when establishing an oil seed rape crop offers significant cost savings as well as increasing the accuracy of slug pellet application. Flexibility of the system allows oilseed rape seed and slug pellets to be broadcast or placed in rows behind the subsoiling leg or cultivation tine. Each product is metered individually to each outlet across the width of the cultivator so application accuracy is guaranteed. Various metering unit combinations are available with up to eight outlets per product. Electronically controlled ground speed related metering units using a GPS speed signal give a constant application rate of both products regardless of forward speed.
New Horstine Product Range Launched
Horstine has launched three new products to significantly improve placement accuracy of granular fertiliser and nematicides in potato crops.
Higher fertiliser costs, tighter environmental legislation, more targeted and efficient chemical and fertiliser application as well as operator safety have been the key drivers behind the launch of the new range.
It includes the Microband Air in furrow Vydate applicator and Air Stream applicator designed to accurately place fertiliser during planting. The new range of products will be displayed at LAMMA on stand B1.
