Summer 2008
Topcon X20 now available on all Chafer sprayers
All Chafer sprayers are now available with the option of Topcon X20 to increase sprayer productivity and accuracy.
The Topcon X20 console has the ability to control not only pressure based application rate control but also automated boom section control, field guidance and record keeping. The addition of a ProSteer ECU also enables Topcon to control automated steering. Topcon X20 is ideal for customers wanting to maximize the efficiency of chemical and fertilizer use especially with input prices on the increase. Growers using Topcon X20 can benefit from significant chemical and fertilizer savings plus sprayer operators are able to concentrate on boom operation and driving accurately while the Topcon X20 takes control of boom section switching.
New Chafer & Horstine Equipment Focuses on OSR Establishment
Completing four separate field operations in one pass is now achievable using the latest oilseed rape establishment systems from Chafer Machinery and Horstine Farmery. Application of oilseed rape, slug pellets and liquid fertilizer while cultivating saves not only time and labour but also significantly reduces establishment costs and maximises the accuracy of application.
Horstine Farmery has developed the “Twin Air” applicator an oilseed rape and slug pellet applicator which can be mounted directly to most subsoilers or cultivators. A 300 litre split stainless steel tank allows for both seed and pellets to be applied simultaneously without the need for premixing. Complimenting this new Horstine system Chafer Machinery have developed the “QuickStart” liquid fertiliser band spraying system to improve the establishment of oil seed rape and to reduce fertilizer and fuel costs.
Summer 2009
Chafer Quickstart Fertilizer Applicators Start Work
Chafer Quickstart band sprayers are now busy at work applying liquid fertilizer during oilseed rape drilling. Applying fertilizer in narrow bands next to the seed provides key nutrients close to the seed, encourages strong tap root development and ensures NVZ regulations are met without compromising crop production. A full program of field trails are being conducted this autumn comparing the differences between broadcast and banding fertilizer strategies.
A range of tank options are available to suit most types of cultivator click here for more details.
